UPDATE ON TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SALESFORCE TRANSIT CENTER

The Salesforce Transit Center is temporarily closed. In September 2018, workers discovered two fissures in steel beams on the bus deck above Fremont Street. After several inspections and out of an abundance of caution, the Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) temporarily closed the Transit Center.

FREMONT STREET TO REOPEN FOR MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE

San Francisco, CA – The Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) announced today that work on a four-level shoring system beneath the temporarily closed Salesforce Transit Center on Fremont Street between Howard and Mission streets is complete. Fremont Street will reopen in time for the Monday morning commute.

Work on a shoring system at the Salesforce Transit Center at Fremont Street between Howard and Mission streets continued today and will continue into early next week, moving the scheduled reopening date of the one block closure. The street will reopen to traffic and the public on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
