Film & Photo Shoot Information

Salesforce Park is a popular location for television, film, commercial photography, and corporate shoots.  All film, video or photo production at Salesforce Transit Center requires a Film Permit from the TJPA, owner and operator of the facility. Because TJPA has jurisdiction over the facility, there is no need to go through SF Film.

There is an hourly site fee for corporate and commercial film/video/photo shoots, but costs vary based on the complexity, size, and duration of the shoot.

In all cases, payment of hard costs for security, building engineering, and other personnel may be required based on the needs of the shoot. An onsite walkthrough is typically required before a shoot is approved.

The Permittees may not prohibit or obstruct vehicular or public access to park, streets and sidewalks without express permission. The Permittees must acknowledge that the primary purpose of the transit center, including the park, is to serve the public. If permission is granted to temporarily exclude the public from certain areas of the transit center, including the park, for production purposes, the Permittees must use the utmost courtesy in doing so. A public notice may be required including the company's phone number, along with the time and duration of the filming impact, at the site and in the surrounding neighborhood at least 48 hours in advance.

Permittees must follow the direction of TJPA employees, including its representatives, and the San Francisco Police Department at all times.

Additional rules and regulations will be provided upon permit application in a License Agreement which will include additional site and hours stipulations, general conditions, insurance and indemnification requirements,

The Application Process:

  1. Submit a Photo/Film/Video Inquiry Information Form:
ANYONE interested in any type of filming or photography must fill out this form. The completed form should be submitted with as much lead time as possible – ideally about a month. All requests must be received at least 10 business days prior to your desired filming date(s). The informational form helps us understand the scope of your project and its potential impact on the transit center, and allows us to provide an accurate fee estimate.

  2. Review and Discuss: A park representative will contact you to discuss the details of the shoot and the estimated fees involved. There is an hourly site fee for film and photo shoots, but the amount varies based on the complexity and size of the shoot. Payment of hard costs for security, building engineering, and other personnel may be required based on the needs of the shoot. An onsite walkthrough is typically required before a shoot is approved.

  3. Sign a Filming License Agreement with the TJPA.
This agreement functions as the permit once it is fully executed. Payment of all fees is due in full BEFORE the shoot, by wire transfer. Fees must be paid by the signatory of the final filming agreement. Insurance must be submitted as well. Requirements for the Certificates of Insurance (COI) requirements and payment instructions can be found in the Production Manual.
