Doanh Nguyen

Doanh Nguyen was appointed to the TJPA Board by the California State Department of Transportation effective August 2026. He was appointed as Acting District Director for District 4, effective July 1, 2026 and previously served as Acting Chief Deputy Director for the Bay Area beginning in September 2025, following a distinguished tenure as deputy of program/project management and the single focal point for the capital program since 2014. Known for a leadership style that emphasizes results, excellence, teamwork, and innovation, he has consistently fostered effective partnerships to maximize regional benefits and promote staff well-being and professional growth.

Doanh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and holds credentials as a registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP). Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor family activities, ultrarunning, and poetry.
